How do I open a compressed (zipped) folder/how do I unzip or extract the files from a zipped (compressed) folder?

Almost all computers nowadays can easily open compressed (zipped) folders.

To open the compressed (zipped) folder, simply click or double-click, depending on how your computer is set up, on the folder's icon. If any additional steps are required to open the folder, your computer should notify you of such.

Should, on the off chance, you need a special utility to open it, you can get one for FREE at:

To unzip or extract the files from a zipped (compressed) folder (Windows XP/Vista/7):

1. Right-click on the zipped (compressed) folder. Click on "Extract All" from the context menu.

2. Select a location for the extracted files and click "Next". By default the file will go to the current working directory, but you can also specify a new folder as the extract location.

3. Click "Finish" to see the files; uncheck the box labeled "Show extracted files when complete" and Windows won't automatically display them.

Again, should, on the off chance, you need a special utility to do this, you can get one for FREE at:
